Acrylic sheets, laser cut brass pieces, Arduino, buzzer, camera, screen
13 x 10,5 cm
This piece replaces the traditional doorbell with a keyhole-activated trigger: The visitor rings simply by looking through it. Inspired by the Dutch window culture and Jeremy Bentham’s Panopticon, the work explores visibility and therefore human’s natural surveillance. The act of peeking becomes both an entry request but also a subtle act of power.
